MARKERS

South Suburban Memorials offers a variety of individual and companion markers for your memorial needs. The style of marker you choose depends on the rules and regulations of the cemetery. The three styles available are flush markers, bevel markers and slant markers. South Suburban will help to guide you in the selection of your memorial. We also offer a multitude of standard designs as well as personalized designs. We offer 22 colors of granites (see Granite Samples)

Flush Markers, or lawn level markers, are 4 inches in height or thickness. Lawn level markers set flush with the ground. The individual markers are used to identify individual burial plots. They are also used in association with a family monument. The companion lawn level markers are used for two burial plots, for husband and wife, embracing the plots.

Bevel markers set above the ground. Standard heights for bevel markers are 6, 8 and 10 inches. The amount of the bevel is usually about 1.5 to 2 inches. The individual bevel markers are used to identify individual burial plots. They are also used in association with a family monument. The companion bevel markers are used for two burial plots, for husband and wife, embracing the burial plots.

Slant markers set above the ground. Standard heights for slant markers are 16 inches. There are three basic top nosing styles for the slant marker: Serpentine, Oval and Straight. Individual slant markers are used for single burial plots to identify one individual. Companion slant markers are used for two to three grave burial plots.
